DORSET CRIMEBEAT
Dorset Crimebeat
helps put ideas into action and can make available a grant of up to £500 –
interested, then please read on.
‘Dorset Crimebeat’, part of LV= Streetwise, is a charity that gives
money to young people who have a good idea about how to improve their
community. Dorset Crimebeat enables young people to
participate on issues that are of direct concern to them and will support
projects which positively impact their Dorset
community. The strength of Dorset Crimebeat is in
providing a financial incentive for young people to produce and put into effect
their own ideas of how to make their community a safer and better place to live
whilst promoting a positive image of young people. Dorset Crimebeat
also acts as a focus for the talents and expertise of so many different people
in the County who have an involvement in these matters.
The scheme empowers young
people, with the right adult/professional support, to foster community safety,
and encourages them to become responsible members of their community with a
positive contribution to make. Dorset Crimebeat
offers a great chance for young people between the ages of 5 and 25 to show
what they can do and how their project can help them and others in their area. Crimebeat gives young people the financial incentive to put
into effect their own ideas on how to make their community safer. We invite any
local young people with a project idea to contact us and start making a
difference.
The Dorset Crimebeat
Scheme can make available a grant of up to £500 to assist in setting up a
project, or can operate a competition with prize money available to the winning
groups. All Dorset Crimebeat projects are championed
by the High Sheriff of the County, who each year is invited to submit one
project to the National Crimebeat Awards.
